Fallas, art and Conway Hall

Went to Conway Hall to tango after missing three Fridays in a row while ill with flu. While walking in through their hall I encountered two cardboard scultures looking like XVIII gentlemen, First Philosopher were their names. Went to hang my coat and came face to face with a group of them seated on a sofa, The Holy Family. There were also painting and drawings on display all part of Stations of the Cross a show by the artist Lawrence Mathias, exploring the relationship between religious paith and sceptical thought. I found it witty and interesting.  My first though on seen the scultures was remembering the Fallas in Valencia , were cardboard sculptures depicting the previous year events are set on fire on the eve of 19th March after two weeks of celebrations. Desperta, Mascleta, Ninots, Crema...memories of some Fallas long past came to my mind.
